About Peter Walton

Peter Walton is a Melbourne based photographer with a lifetime of professional experience. When he was a teenager his father, a commercial artist, gave him his first camera. He was immediately hooked on the magic of creating images.

He chose to pursue photography as a full time profession and completed a diploma in advertising at the RMIT University … and later made the giant leap into setting up his own photo studio in South Melbourne, a decision that led to some wonderful photographic opportunities.

When digital photography arrived he set up Australia’s first digital image library, Australian Scenics. It became very successful and led to numerous international assignments shooting images for travel company brochures.

His travel assignments have included:

World Expeditions: Nepal, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, China, Laos, Cambodia, Antarctica, New Zealand, Kakadu and Tasmania’s Tarkine Wilderness

Australian Pacific Tours (APT): Cape York, The Kimberley Region, A shipboard cruise around the Baltic sea ports.

Oceania Cruises: New Zealand and numerous Asian ports.
